The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando is opening its doors to the public on June 18, and as we previously reported, it will house plenty of stores, restaurants and rides. Now, according to MTV, the word on the street is that the park's main attraction, the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, will revolutionize the entire theme park experience for its guests.
Only a few details about the Wizarding World have been released, but Universal Creative President Mark Woodbury says the Forbidden Journey ride is a "game changer" and puts the theme park in a league of its own.
The ride will be a part of Hogwarts Castle, where guests will walk through many rooms designed after scenes from the Harry Potter book series. Eventually, they will land in the Room of Requirement where they will take an "enchanted bench" to the ride portion of the attraction.
The Forbidden Journey also reportedly uses robotic-arm technology with 3D visuals of the Harry Potter cast, which was filmed just for the ride. And, as advertised in the theme park's Super Bowl commercial, guests will get to fight dragons, be a part of a Quidditch match and fly through Hogwarts.
"Every detail, every space, people are just going to be so excited when they walk in here," says the park's art director Alan Gilmore. "You just can't stop looking at everything. It's all amazing."
