Harry Potter theme park is finally opened for the Kids in Orlando, Florida. So, the only question is, what is going there? Let’s take a look, that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter becomes a miniature recreation of Harry Potter’s world. A whole world of possibilities has been open up.

Universal Orlando is now having thousands of visitors every day at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. Built on the concept of J.K. Rowling’s wizard kid Harry Potter and his magician friends who go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, this theme park has various rides, souvenir shops, eateries and lovely places to hang out at. Visitors- most of whom are devoted Harry Potter fans- are gushing at the fact that the Universal Orlando Resort has remained faithful to the depiction of Hogsmead, Ollivander’s wand store, the dingy lanes and by lanes of the market place, the narrow corridors of Hogwarts castle, Headmaster Albus Dumbledor’s office, the Gryffindor common room, the Defence Against the Dark Arts class room- as shown in the film with close resemblance to their description in Rowling’s books.

Among the exciting and adventurous rides there are Dragon Challenge, Flight of the Hippogriff, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The Dragon Challenge ride is a combination of two roller coasters zooming at superfast speed along loopy tracks almost colliding against each other. Racing past realistic models of the dangerous dragons found in the Triwizard Tournament of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire the roller coaster ride of Dragon Challenge is truly breathtaking. The other two rides- Flight of the Hippogriff, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey involve audio visual techniques to simulate the high speed broom stick ride or ride on the back of the magical creature Hippogriff.

After having a superb time on these rides, one can also enjoy the tidbits or snack at Three Broomsticks restaurant. Grownup fans of Harry Potter and his friends can also enjoy a mug of beer or two at the restaurant. And enthusiasts can purchase small souvenirs from the shops located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando Resort. At Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods one will find trinkets, wands, diaries and other small gifts. At Honeyduck’s one will find sweets and chocolates of the magic land—the chocolate frogs that you get here may not jump out of their boxes as it happens in the fictional world of Harry Potter but they are as delicious as they can be.

At Ollivander’s do look for the perfect magic wand for yourself. But don’t expect to change the world with the swish of the wand. After all, you are a muggle- a lay person without the gift or skill of witchcraft or wizardry. And at Owl Post post office get yourself postcards of the Harry Potter world. Although you cannot expect any pet owl to deliver your mails at the doorstep, yet at least you can share the postcards with your friends and boast that you’ve been to a magic land where Harry Potter and his magician friends live.
